For many industries, the exhibition centre in Cologne is the centre of the universe. Not because, with 284,000 m2; of hall space, it is one of the biggest of its kind (the fourth-biggest in the world), and not because of its attractive location in the heart of Europe, directly opposite Cologne Cathedral. But because the whole world comes to Cologne.
The Cologne trade fairs can claim the highest level of internationality in the world; on average, 60 percent of exhibitors and approx. 33 percent of visitors come from abroad. As a result, most of the Cologne events are leading trade fairs where the global market of the relevant sector is represented almost in its entirety on both the supply and the demand side. These events include e.g. the Anuga in the food sector, the international furniture fair imm cologne, the waste management and environmental technology fair Entsorga-Enteco, the world fair for apparel production technology and textile processing IMB, the international dental show IDS, the art fair Art Cologne, the specialised trade fair for digital management solutions DMS, the photokina or the international bicycle trade show IFMA Cologne.
