Instructions for using the content system

Who and what is it for?
If you’re a journalist looking for material for an article on a furniture or design topic, have a look through our content system and see if you can find a suitable article or a few text modules that would be helpful for your work.

Self-service principle
The programme is set up like a shop system – except that, in our case, your “shopping” doesn’t cost you anything. Everything can be downloaded and used for editorial purposes free of charge.

The deal
All we need to activate your package is your e-mail address and name – partly because that’s the way the programme works, and partly in order to prevent commercial usage of the materials, which have been produced exclusively for editorial purposes.

Excuse me, where do I find ...…?
You can use various navigation possibilities to help with your search. If you’re interested in a certain Content Folder, you will find a list of all available folders under “Content Folders” in the upper menu bar. The latest folder and other topical highlights can be accessed under “News”. On top of that, various articles from different content folders have been grouped according to topic. The most persistent of you might also enjoy combing through our “Archive” for information relating to last year.

Download formats
The text downloads are in the form of Word files. For reasons of clarity and to ensure faster data access, the image files are offered separately. This means articles and photos can be used independently of one another. The video podcasts of interviews with designers can also be used. You can generate a code in the player itself that will enable you to embed the file in your site free of charge.

First take a look…
If you want to use the menu item “Content Folders” to have a closer look at a certain folder, clicking on an overview page will take you to the list of contents for that particular folder. You will also find a PDF version of the complete folder in fully layouted format – use the mouse to turn the pages at the bottom right-hand corner (or a double click).

… then choose…
However you get there: for every article you’ve clicked on there’s an info page where you can view an extract (text and photos are always shown separately). Only then do you click on the “Add to my selection” button if the material is of use to you.

… and download.
When you’ve compiled enough material for your project, use “My selection” in the right-hand menu field to access your download account, check it, enter your address data and confirm the download list. We will activate your account as soon as possible. After receiving confirmation, you can download the texts and photos in your personal customer account as often as you like. .

How do I use and handle the material?
If you use our material – either in the form of an entire article or certain modules and photos – we hope you’ll mention the imm cologne in the credits or list your source in some other way. The authors listed in the info block for the article don’t have to be named. However, as customary, photos and other images do have to be tagged with the copyrights.
