About
The imm cologne is one of the leading international furnishing fairs. As such, it sees itself not just as a trend barometer and a source of new impetus for the coming furniture season, but as a communication forum for the entire sector as well. As the first platform of the year to showcase market-ready design developments, it regularly offers around 3,000 journalists the opportunity to inform themselves about current economic developments in the furniture sector, new products and, of course, the trends for the coming season.
In view of ever-shrinking editorial teams and time budgets, our aim is to provide journalists with a neutral, objective and accessible basis for their work and thus promote media coverage of furnishing and interior design topics that goes far beyond the usual short-lived hype surrounding design attractions.
We hope the Content Folders will provide journalists with a sophisticated tool that collates well-researched, ad-free information in a variety of different formats and covers subject areas such as interior design and lifestyle, product design and furniture, materials and components, the furniture market, consumer and design trends. Because the way the public perceives the sector is vital for the design scene and trade fair customers alike, our aim is to provide a wealth of new and varied ideas for media coverage of furnishing-related topics.
Rather than merely communicating superficial PR messages, the Content Folders present factual content in which the imm cologne appears in context with the design scene and the furniture industry. The texts are researched and written by external journalists. The sophisticated presentation of the content in a magazine-like print version with a modern layout and clearly structured text and photo materials is also new. The folders are published in several languages.
Koelnmesse hopes this free service will bring a new quality to media coverage of Germany as a design and trade fair location.
